On the table, Sports massage will commonly focus on specific regions of tightness or dysfunction in your body, taking into account any injuries or problematic areas that you may currently have.
Depending on your level of competition and the stage in your training cycle, you may require a massage regularly – monthly, weekly and even sometimes daily for the elite performer to keep you at the top of your game. Just ask your therapist about what will best suit your body, training regime and circumstances - please always let your therapist know where you are in your training cycle and how long until you compete.
If you are new to Sports massage, we suggest that you schedule your massage on your recovery days. Deep tissue methods are common with Sports massage and as such we suggest that you schedule deep release work around three days prior to your event to avoid muscle soreness whilst competing.
