Stretching is Boring!

Stretching – is there anything more boring…?

But it can be soooo good for you!!

So how can you make stretching more fun/efficient/interesting…?

1. Combine it with your meal

Most of us will stop to eat at least once a day. This is a great time to add in a stretch.

  1. Sit at the table and stretch your gluteals by sitting with your ankle on your knee and your butt right to the back of the chair
  2. Sit on the floor with your butt against the wall and legs out straight for your hamstrings
  3. Stand on the edge of a step and hang your ankles off the back to stretch your calves while you eat your breakfast cereal…!

When you stop to eat, throw in a stretch as well! You won’t even notice how boring they are!

2. Stretch before Bed

Add to your pre-bed relaxation! A great wind down is to play some relaxing meditation music and stretch away! You will be contributing even more to your wind down as your muscles physically release the tension they’re holding!

3. Add it in at Work!

If you know you’re going to have a phone call that lasts more than 60 seconds – whack in a stretch too!

Reading a report? Your lower body isn’t doing anything very helpful… why not stretch it?

Even while you’re sitting at your computer you can stretch your glutes!

Be creative! If you find that you’re not using a part of your body for a task – you could probably stretch it, and then you'll cure those stretching boredom blues for good!
